This extraordinary collection is dedicated to Greek mythology and thematically centers on the legendary Aegis—the powerful shield of the gods.
In Greek mythology, the Aegis was a symbol-laden shield adorned with the head of Medusa and worn by both Zeus and Athena. The god Hephaestus forged it from goatskin, and it was attributed with supernatural powers—it could unleash storms and was regarded as unbreakable.
The antique bronze coin included in this collection originates from Asia Minor (region of Pontus) and on the obverse features the Aegis with Medusa’s head, while on the reverse it bears the Greek goddess Nike.
Condition: age-appropriate preservation (see photos).
The coin comes in a high-quality presentation box with a thematic certificate and is ideal as a collector’s piece or special gift.
