Description from the seller
Maybe, maybe
Koichi Inakoshi
Kyuryudo/1971/japanese/223*235*10
“Maybe, maybe,” a photo collection by Koichi Inakoshi, one of Japan’s leading photographers. After working as a graphic designer at Moss Advertising Co., Ltd., Inakoshi transitioned to photography and began his career as a freelance photographer in the early 1970s. While he has made a name for himself through commercial photography and portraits of renowned artists, he has also published landscape works featuring subjects such as the sea and flowers, and has traveled the world, releasing collections of works from Europe, Asia, and China. Furthermore, he is well-versed in haiku and writing, making him a photographer active in a wide variety of fields. This book is his first photo collection, published in 1971. It consists of black-and-white snapshots taken in Manhattan, New York. Without adhering to a specific theme, these works—captured through a “personal gaze”—evoke the “social landscape” represented by photographers like Lee Friedlander, as well as the prevailing trends in photography of the time. It is a volume that leaves one in awe of the photographer’s exceptional sensibility and photographic eye.
