Description from the seller
This lot is not a simple decoration, but a tribute to the material hyperrealism of the Tuscan masters. Each fruit has been carved from a block of marble, worked to imitate not only the shape but also the tactile texture of the biological original. The centerpiece of the collection is undoubtedly the rare mandarin: unlike the matte, granular finish of the other fruits, this specimen boasts a truly extraordinary glossy, glassy patina that enhances its chromatic saturation and makes it the true “jewel” of the set, a piece difficult to find on the market of thematic collectibles.
The variety of the group allows for a dynamic and vibrant composition. Note the realism of the pear, completed with a real wood stem, and the care given to the detail of the lemon rind. Despite an honest restoration on the banana, which testifies to the mineral and authentic nature of the object, the whole maintains an unchanged decorative strength. An ideal set for those seeking that “Cabinet of Curiosities” taste typical of Italian noble houses, perfect for adding a touch of color and solidity to a designer kitchen or to an eclectic living room.
Here is the detail of your "collection":
1. The Mandarin: Characterized by a mirror-like glossy patina. It is the most valuable piece of the lot due to its different finishing technique (lead polishing or hard wax) that makes it visually deeper and rarer than standard production.
2. The Pear: Impressive, with a granular texture and a natural wood stem inserted by pressure.
3. The Lemon: Typical lemon yellow with increased porosity, typical of the variety "Femminello".
4. The Banana: Characterized by a color stratification that simulates ripening (brown tips). Note: Restored with technical gluing.
5. The Orange: A hyper-realistic Navel with the characteristic rind puncture.
6. The Small Peach: ideal for creating depth in the basket.
7. The Black Fig: Splendid color contrast, with deep violet tones and teardrop shape.
8. The Green Fig: Representation of the variety "Dottato", smaller and more compact.
9. The Plum: Teardrop shape with shading ranging from yellow to pink.
Shipping note: To preserve the integrity of the marble and the fragile wood, the lot will be packed with extreme care, using individually wrapped protections in bubble wrap and reinforced boxes."
