Ed van der Elsken - NAT LAB - 1989

Photos by Ed van der Elsken in a book from 1989 about the Philips Natuurkundig Laboratorium (NAT LAB). The photos show everyday work in the laboratory.

In the 1950s and 1960s Van der Elsken had a solid reputation as a street photographer. In Eindhoven he photographed researchers and technicians of flesh and blood in their biotope of test setups, meeting rooms, workshops, computer prints and chalk boards. Lightning fast and without flash he took the men and women by surprise or showed them posing.
