Murano glass flower with silk stem – length 40 cm

This flower is handmade entirely in Murano using the traditional lamp-working technique.
The master glassmaker uses a colored glass cane, brought to the malleability temperature by the flame of a gas-powered torch. The glass, once malleable, is molded and wound around a thin metal core, allowing the desired shape to be achieved.
The lamp-working technique enables creating extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals and small decorative elements.
For flowers, once the bud and leaves have been finished, the piece is hand-inserted onto a silk-covered stem and reinforced with wire, so it can be used for arrangements, decorations and displays.
