Description from the seller

A large vintage enameled metal casserole, probably produced in the 1970s, characteristic of European domestic productions of that era, where functionality and decorative aesthetics come together in a decidedly retro spirit. This type of utensil, often decorated with stylized floral friezes and bright colors, reflects the trend of enameled cookware sets widely distributed in households during the Thirty Glorious Years. The model presented here immediately appeals with its chromatic contrast and its typical graphic design.

The cylindrical body is made of steel sheet coated with a glossy white enamel, offering a smooth and bright surface. A decorative frieze runs around the entire circumference: it consists of stylized motifs evoking flowers or bulbs, rendered in bright red, orange and yellow, punctuated by green foliage with sinuous and symmetrical lines. This repetitive, highly graphic decoration recalls folkloric influences revisited in a decorative language specific to the 60s-70s. The interior is enamelled in a uniform light blue, bringing a touch of softness that contrasts with the brighter exterior. The casserole is equipped with two black Bakelite side handles, with clean, functional lines, as well as a red-orange domed lid, topped with a black cylindrical knob. The upper edge is ringed with a metal collar that elegantly defines the silhouette.

The piece is in excellent condition. The exterior enamel retains all its shine and colors. Only a few light, diffuse signs of use are visible, as well as discreet marks on the inner bottom related to normal use. The underside shows signs of use consistent with its age and use. No major impact or structural alteration is to report.

This type of casserole perfectly illustrates the evolution of kitchen utensils in the 20th century, when enamel established itself as a material that is hygienic, durable, and decorative. In the 1960s-1970s, European manufacturers developed accessible yet refined production, incorporating colorful and stylized motifs that transform everyday objects into fully decorative elements. This piece thus bears witness to a moment when domestic design democratized, while preserving a strong and immediately recognizable visual identity.

Dimensions are:
- Total height: 25 centimeters,
- Width: 31 centimeters,
- Top diameter: 26.4 centimeters,
- Base diameter: 24.3 centimeters,
- Weight: 3250 grams.

The casserole and its lid will be carefully packaged and shipped quickly in a secure manner. In-person pickup and consolidated delivery are available. Photos are part of the description.
