The coin of the “Morgan Dollar” type was minted at the Philadelphia mint. On the obverse is the bust of the personification of Liberty, designed by George T. Morgan. On the reverse is the eagle with a shield, holding an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. It is one of the most iconic coins in nineteenth-century American numismatics.
