Luba - DR Congo

The Luba make only figures of women. They take care of the organization and the continuation of the family and the clan. They are also the symbol of fertility, as shown by this pregnant woman. Also the pronounced navel as the place where life is passed on is a reference to this function.
The figurine has a beautiful patina and is in good condition.
