Description from the seller
The subject of this auction is an antique brass surveying instrument—an angle cross (also known as an équerre d'arpenteur or pantometer). A classic tool from 19th-century surveying, used for marking out right angles and other specific angle measurements in the field.
Its primary function is to determine perpendicular lines and mark 90-degree angles.
The tool is often cylindrical or octagonal in shape, with vertical slits. Surveyors would look through these small slits at landmarks in the landscape to draw an accurate line.
Mounting: The brass handle is unscrewed and inserted into the center of the octagon so that the device fits inside the box. Original wooden box—beautifully crafted with great attention to detail. During measurements, the device was mounted on a wooden surveying tripod (tripod) driven into the ground. The item is in very good condition for its age—see the photos included in the description.
The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number.
We do not ship products to Russia, Ukraine, Israel, and Belarus due to their unavailability.
If you have any concerns regarding the condition of the shipment, please inform the carrier and file a report. This will serve as the basis for filing a claim.
