Description from the seller

Beautiful antique Chinese censer crafted in cloisonné enamel on a copper/brass-toned base. The piece is richly decorated with traditional motifs in blue, green, red and gold tones, with characteristic archaic patterns.

The censer stands on three legs and is equipped with a lid. On the sides there are decorative animal heads (lion heads), a typical element within Chinese art. Due to its generous size and solid weight, this is an impressive and decorative collector's piece.

This type of object was used for burning incense, both in domestic settings and in temple-like environments.

Period
Late Qing Dynasty (approx. 1880–1930)

Origin
China

Material
Cloisonné enamel on copper/brass

Specifications
• Height: 24 cm
• Width (tip to tip): 24 cm
• Diameter (body): 20 cm
• Weight: 2220 g

Condition
In wonderful antique condition with an honest patina. There is a small, intriguing translucent spot in the enamel inside the burner area (likely formed during the firing process or from historical use). This authentic feature, together with the fine pitting in the enamel, underscores the character and age of the piece. No restorations or dents.

Notes
Bottom features a maker’s mark (see photos). This is likely a decorative or later-added mark, as is often the case with this type of object.

Shipping
An object of this stature deserves the best care. It will be carefully and professionally packaged and shipped with full insurance and tracking.
