Description from the seller
Title: Luxury Crystal Glass Service – Provenance of Metz (1930s/1950s)
Origin: Region of Metz / Franco-German Border (Lorraine Elite)
Description:
Exceptional set of 28 high-quality lead crystal glasses. This service comes from the city of Metz, in the heart of Lorraine, a region historically famous for its world-renowned crystal works. Each piece is adorned with a deep hand engraving, in neoclassical motifs (garlands and knots), crowned by a wide 24-carat gold-polished border.
Condition (Honest and real description):
The service retains all its historic prestige, with natural signs of time on only 3 pieces:
Two glasses: show slight wear of the gilding on the upper rim.
One glass: shows a small chip at the base of the foot (visible in photo).
The other 25 pieces: are in very good condition, with the crystal’s brilliance and gilding intact.
Technical characteristics:
Tone and Music: This crystal has a unique resonance. To the touch, it emits a long, deep vibration, mixing the purity of a church bell with the melodic vibration of an oud string (lute).
Composition (28 pieces): Water glasses, wine glasses, and liqueur goblets.
