Old Box Lock – Provenance: Palazzo Mazzarosa (Lucca)
Splendid antique box lock (surface-mounted) in wrought iron, dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. The piece is not just hardware from a bygone era, but a fragment of local history: it comes from the historic Palazzo Mazzarosa in Lucca, home to one of the city’s most illustrious noble families.
Main features:
• Dimensions: Length 20 cm x Height 13 cm.
• Condition: Fully functional in every mechanical part.
• Completeness: The item is sold complete with its original female-threaded key and the corresponding recessed locking escutcheon (strike plate).
• Details: The internal mechanism features elegant contoured work typical of the high-quality craftsmanship of the period.
