Christofle - Serving dish - Silverplated - strawberry drainer

A rare table accessory / dessert piece, the “égouttoir à fraises” (strawberry/fruit draining bowl) from Christofle with model number 462604. This table piece is depicted in the Christofle catalog of 1883–1891. The piece consists of a heavy silver-plated basket with all the marks and stamps of Christofle, plus a crystal inner bowl that is matte at the narrow rim. In this crystal bowl sits a draining dish which is also stamped with Christofle marks. This table piece is in used, very good condition; the glass has a minute chip that is noticeable only with a magnifying glass. See photo.
