Description from the seller
Low table, Coffee table / Sculpture "Books" designed by Daniel Chassin, 2003 – France
Splendid coffee table crafted by the French sculptor Daniel Chassin (1950 - ). Of great originality, the table is composed of a real contemporary sculpture in gilded brass that forms its base or foot, and that holds a tempered glass top with rounded corners. This sculptural group formed by books, placed in different positions and planes, surprises the viewer thanks to the colors and textures offered by the various techniques used by the artist. Chassin uses the brass that he molds and welds, and that he also polishes, gilds and patinas. The result is a lightweight coffee table, which is also emphasized by the glass. Signed on the spine of a book, “D. Chassin 2003”. As it is, by its nature, a sculpture, it can be displayed as such without the glass. Versatility and functionality.
Daniel Chassin (1950-) is a French sculptor who makes works in brass and bronze. Sometimes with simplified forms, sometimes with realistic forms, and sometimes with formed or abstract shapes. In his most used repertoire are the human figure and animals, often giving them a halo of mystery. This artist always finds balance between robustness and delicacy, where, according to him, “perfection resides.”
Sculpture dimensions: 38 x 62 x 30 cm.
Glass dimensions: 120 x 61 cm.
Shipping costs include the professional custom packaging; and the personalized shipping, with tracking number and warranty.
