Fine '800 - early '900 - Chinese porcelain teapot "puzzle", an object characterized by a pierced design and a structure that evokes Chinese ideograms.
These objects were made in the style of the Famille Verte, typical of the Qing dynasty, particularly during the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1662-1722).
Design a Puzzle: These teapots (or wine decanters) were famous for their complex shape and pierced motifs.
Ideogram Shape: The body of the teapot is molded to resemble well-wishing Chinese characters, such as the Shou (Longevity) or Fu (Fortune).
Features a green background decorated with floral motifs, butterflies.
The handle and the spout are decorated with a yellow brick motif, while the lid can be topped with a small guardian lion figure (Foo dog).
Dimensions: 24 x 19 x 5 cm
Antique item in very good condition with minimal signs of time and use as described and in the photographs.
