Description from the seller

Louis-Jacques Vaillant was one of the most important Parisian clockmakers of the Empire period, with workshops in Tixeranderie in 1800 and in rue de la Verrerie from 1812 to 1817, the period during which this accessible pendulum clock was made. The carefully fire-gilded ornaments and the griotte marble case are characteristic of the master.
His work is sought after and to be found in notable collections and noble families, then and now.

The dial is high-quality enamelled and shows Roman numerals.

Spring-driven with anchor escapement and eight-day running time.

With its warm restrained appearance and the master mark, a beautiful piece for any interior.

No damage, no restorations.
