Description from the seller

Set of 3 Antique Hand-Carved Speculaas Boards – Dutch Folk Art (1910-1930)
Description: For auction: a stunning set of three authentic, antique speculaas boards (baking boards) from the early 20th century (circa 1910-1930). These impressive pieces of Dutch folk art are not only a tribute to the bakery craft of yesteryear, but also form a unique decorative statement in any interior. The set consists of three richly detailed, hand-carved figures ("dolls").
2x Large boards: Size approx. 60 x 15 cm. These boards showcase refined carving of traditional figures in costume, with beautiful geometric patterns in the clothing.
1x Extra-large board: Size approx. 75 x 15 cm. A rare long piece with an imposing figure that immediately draws attention due to its size.
Condition and Details:
Material: Made from quality hardwood (likely oak or beech), hand-carved.
Condition: In a beautiful, authentic state with a wonderful seasoned patina that matches the age of over 100 years. The wood is solid and the details of the carving are still clearly visible.
Origin: Netherlands, period 1910-1930.
These boards are perfect for the antique kitchenware collector or as an exclusive wall decoration in a country-style or modern kitchen. Due to the different heights, the set forms a harmonious and impressive whole.
These boards have never been stained! They have been oiled with a food-safe oil (see last photo), so ready for potential use.
Carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
