Description from the seller
Portfolio of 6 loose collotype prints by Benrido with a cardboard slipcase.
Publisher description:
Toshio Shibata's "LANDSCAPE" is a series of images composed of concrete retaining walls and erosion control dams in the mountains of Japan. These walls and dams, built using advanced Japanese civil engineering technology, are strikingly beautiful and remarkably proportionate. However, although they are man-made structures incompatible with nature, they somehow symbolize the landscape of modern Japan. This portfolio presents six collotype prints of Shibata's representative works, taken in Niigata, Fukushima, Miyazaki, and Tochigi between 1989 and 1990. We invite you to enjoy these prints, which are distinct from the original gelatin silver prints.
