Michelin Bibendum statuette in resin, white with blue and grey accents, 25 cm high, 17 cm wide and 13 cm deep, about 1 kg, made in China, contemporary style, period 1990–2010, new and never used, originally boxed with opening but complete.
Description from the seller
HISTORICAL NOTES
Long history behind this very charming little man chosen by Michelin to represent it and distinguish it from its competitors, the Bidendum has undergone several aesthetic changes since it was invented in the distant 1898 by Edouard Michelin, after he, in 1894 at the Universal and Colonial Exposition in Lyon, upon seeing a stack of tires artistically arranged, thought "with a couple more arms it would look like a little man"; this phrase was the abracadabra that gave birth precisely to the Michelin man, up to the present day still intact in its splendor and always loved and appreciated by enthusiasts and collectors.
This is an authentic Michelin advertising statuette/figurine that was given as a gadget to authorized Michelin dealers; this type of gadget was larger than the classic gadgets circulating at the time, new and never used or displayed, always kept in its original box. The figurine is made of resin/polyester and finely hand-painted with a beautiful glossy enamel finish, with a blue velvety fabric base.
Height 25 cm
Width 17 cm
Thickness 13 cm
Weight about 1 kg
A very industrial piece that will certainly stand out in any automotive or industrial setting, in your office or at home to charmingly and originally decorate a corner of the living room or your children’s bedroom.
