Horseman - Dogon - Wood - Mali - 42 cm.

A very elegant Dogon horseman from the Sangha region.
This is a bearded male figure seated dignifiedly on his mount, holding in his left hand a curved staff across the shoulder and on the right side a shoulder bag.
The face is narrow and finely carved. He wears a Dogon-style hat.
The bearing seems very dignified and solemn.
The wood is dense and dark.
Beautiful black patina, slightly granular, showing some age.
It is in very good condition.
