Inkwell - Brass

This is a set of office supplies from France: an inkwell and paper cutter made of French enamel. These were essential office supplies for every teacher and leader between the 1850s and 1900s. In the 19th century, letters were opened with a knife, though this is no longer the case and very few remain. French enamel white is particularly rare.
