Large African ethnographic fetish nail statue. Dimensions: 66 cm. In good condition.

The nkonde were used by several kongo populations from Congo-Kinshasa and Angola. Nkonde are nkisi(charm, fetishes) that are employed for the well-being of the community. They often controlled one or several serious illnesses that they inflicted on criminals and sorcerers that they were tasked with tracking down.
