D88 vase designed by Just Andersen in the Danish Grace Art Deco style, dating from the 1920s–1930s, made of Disko metal with a bronze colour.
Description from the seller
D88 Model Vase in Art Deco Style designed by the famous Danish sculptor and designer Just Andersen between the 1920s and 1930s
Just Andersen (1884–1943) is famous for his metal works and sculptural forms.
The Model D88 is characterized by the bulging ribbed (grooved) body and the flared rim.
The vase was made in Disko metal (Disko metal), a dark metal alloy based on lead and antimony invented by Andersen himself.
The vase bears a base stamp:
JUST (in the upper triangle): It is the official mark of the Danish designer Just Andersen.
D88: It is the model number, identifying this specific ribbed bulging form.
DISKO METAL (in the lower triangle): patented alloy — composed of lead and antimony — known for its ability to maintain a dark, silky patina typical of Scandinavian design of the era.
The vase dates from the 1920s or 1930s and is a classic example of the "Danish Grace" style, the Danish variant of Art Deco; a highly valued collectible for its clean, modernist lines.
Dimensions:
height 12 cm
base diameter 8.5 cm
maximum diameter 11 cm
