Rare Dutch Delft blue-and-white flower tile panel – 4 tiles – circa 1650–1700
Rare antique Dutch Delft tile panel composed of four blue-and-white earthenware tiles, decorated with stylized floral motifs in a characteristic 17th-century design. The panel features repeating snake-head fritillery flowers with ornamental corner decoration, painted in cobalt blue on a white tin-glazed ground.
Dating from approximately 1650–1700, this type of decoration belongs to the early Delft faience tradition inspired by Chinese porcelain and Dutch floral ornament of the Dutch Golden Age. The tiles retain strong decorative appeal and are mounted together in a later wooden frame for display.
The hand-painted motifs, soft tin glaze, and early cobalt palette are characteristic of authentic 17th-century Delft production.
Condition: fair condition with visible age-related wear, glaze craquelure, edge wear. Restored. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
Approximate dimensions including frame:
30 × 30 cm
Sold as photographed.
