A limited edition Giclée on museum‑quality A3 paper (29.7 x 42 cm, 300 g/m²) by SSICK, hand‑signed, edition 1/5, 2026, produced in Italy, titled The Straw Hat Wave.
Description from the seller
GICLEE PRINT ON PREMIUM MUSEUM-QUALITY PAPER A3, 29.7 x 42 cm, 300 g/m², IN LIMITED EDITION OF ONLY 5 COPIES.
The piece depicts Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of the famous One Piece series, in a dynamic, energetic pose.
• The Character: Luffy is shown with his unmistakable straw hat, the open red shirt revealing the X-shaped scar on his chest, blue shorts, and a yellow sash at the waist. He is in a shooting stance, with his right fist thrust forward, as if about to unleash one of his powerful "Gomu Gomu" attacks.
• The Background: The artist has skillfully placed Luffy within an setting reminiscent of Japanese ukiyo-e art. In the background rises a majestic reproduction of the famous "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai, which seems to accompany the movement of the character.
• Additional Elements: Above the wave, on the right, extends a branch of blooming cherry blossoms (sakura), another classic symbol of Japanese culture, adding a touch of color and delicacy to the scene. Stylized clouds complete the traditional aesthetic.
• Artistic Style: Although it is a digital print, the image emulates the texture and brushwork of an oil painting, giving the work a more tactile, artistic look than a simple digital illustration.
It is a perfect piece for collectors who appreciate blending a passion for Japanese animation with a homage to the history of the art of the Rising Sun.
Production Method: Development of a preliminary visual architecture via AI generative models to define composition, tonal values, and color schemes, followed by a meticulous manual digital painting intervention aimed at refining anatomy, integrating customized textures, and imprinting the artist’s distinctive stylistic signature.
