Specimen: Dinosaur fossil, Scientific name: Rebbachisaurus garasbae, Geological period: Cretaceous (145–66 million years ago), Condition: Natural, Authenticity: Original, Size: approximately 18–19 cm.
Description from the seller
Scientific Name:
Rebbachisaurus garasbae
Location:
Kem Kem Valley, Morocco
Stage:
Late Cretaceous
Size:
Approximately 18–19 cm
Fossil description:
A large tail vertebra belonging to the gigantic sauropod Rebbachisaurus garasbae, one of the most impressive herbivores of the African Cretaceous. This type of vertebra, especially from the tail region, are extremely rare, as sauropod remains from Kem Kem tend to appear highly fragmented due to intense predation by large carnivores such as Carcharodontosaurus.
The specimen is presented in a completely natural state, with a very well defined morphology, solid volume and a bone structure that preserves exceptional details for its size. Its rarity is notable: tail vertebrae complete or nearly complete from Rebbachisaurus are virtually non-existent on the market, making this specimen a unique piece of enormous value for advanced collectors or museum vitrines.
Its size, between 18 and 19 cm, places it among the largest and best-preserved known specimens of this sauropod in the fossil trade.
