This lot comes from a family collection, with period handwritten annotations enabling rare historical traceability.
1. Content (Glass Plates):
• Quantity: Approximately 125 positive glass plates (stereoscopic format 4.5 x 11 cm).
• Major Military Subjects: Sector Verdun: explicit mentions of Vaux (Fort/Village), Dugny, and strategic ridges.
• Artillery: Several impressive views of Naval Artillery and large-caliber guns in battery.
• Life of the Poilus: Troop reviews, forest encampments, soldiers in uniform (Adrian helmets), scenes of rest and logistics.
• Condition: Good overall preservation, plates well contrasted, ready for viewing or digitization.
