Description from the seller
An antique, richly decorated silver (plated) tea set from the 19th century, manufactured by the firm Deykin & Sons of Birmingham, England. The set is dated between 1854 and 1895, the period during which the company operated under this specific name before it became Deykin & Harrison in 1895.
The set consists of a teapot, coffee pot, sugar pot, and a milk jug. And a tray, but this is a Sheffield piece from the 1950s. The decorations are typical of the Victorian style, often with richly engraved floral patterns or garlands.
The silver-plated tray from the well-known British manufacturer Viners of Sheffield belongs to the premium Alpha Plate series, indicating superior quality silvering with a thicker layer of silver than standard.
The whole is in good condition with signs of use; the coffee pot and the milk jug both have a small dent on the body, which is not very noticeable and is hard to capture well on camera.
