Description from the seller
Louis XVI style sideboard/credenza, likely made in the 20th century in the Neoclassical tradition.
It is made from mahogany and mahogany veneer with a warm reddish-brown finish and wood inlays as decoration.
The front is typically divided into sections, featuring two drawers above matching cupboard doors. It sits on two front tapered legs which are capped with decorative brass sabots and two back wood block legs.
It is decorated with brass or gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts, including circular or drop-style handle pulls, escutcheons (keyhole covers), and delicate bead and frame moldings around the door panels. The doors well function with keys but there is slightly curve due to age. It can be seen when the doors are closed (seen on photos).
The top is in wood panel with black marble insert. There is minimal chip at the edge (seen on photos).
In good condition with patina and minimal user marks befitting its age (natural wood cracks…)
Please check well the photos.
Presented the moth holes.
Dimensions: width 160cm x height 97cm x depth 57 cm
Made in Italy
Period: 1930s/1940s
