Antique 19th Century Kneeler in Solid Wood Finely Carved
Antique kneeler dating to the 19th century, made of solid wood and richly hand-carved with refined religious and decorative motifs. The upper part is dominated by a large pointed pediment with a bas-relief scene depicting Christ crucified with kneeling figures at the foot of the cross and a radiating back panel, all executed with remarkable care in anatomical details and drapes.
The structure is framed by lateral twister columns with finely worked capitals that support the upper arch, adorned with carved foliate motifs. The inclined top surface features ornamental carvings in floral and vegetal motifs, while the front fascia is decorated with rosettes and carved moldings.
The lower part consists of a wide base with a kneeler platform, also finished with carved borders, and decorative carved panels. The front legs are turned, completing the architectural balance of the furniture and giving it dynamism and solidity as a whole.
