Description from the seller
French Sofa from the Napoleonic III Era in Gilded Wood, Louis XV Style
Elegant French sofa from the Napoleonic III era, dating to the second half of the 19th century, crafted in finely carved and gilded wood in the Louis XV style. The structure features curved, sinuous lines with scroll arms and a shaped front rail, richly decorated with floral motifs and carved volutes. The apron is embellished with central and side carvings that highlight the craftsmanship of the piece, while the legs are curved and slender, typical of the Rococo taste revived in this period. The upholstery, reupholstered in precious San Leucio silk with a floral pattern in warm tones of red and gold, further enhances the elegance and prestige of the piece. A furniture item with great scenic charm, ideal for important living rooms or prestigious environments.
