Icon - Christ Pantocrator - Wood

Antique, probably Romanian icon (circa 1850–1890) "Christ Pantocrator" from the 19th century.

The icon was probably made in Romania. On the back, two cross-slats are attached (see photos).

The motif is relatively common in the Orthodox Church.

Hand-painted on wood. Solid, craft-acceptable execution with minimal, age-related signs of wear (see photos).

The painting is fairly simple, yet overall very appealing.

The Saint is labeled. The inscriptions are easily legible.

Suitable for collectors, decoration, or as a religious object.

The icon was made according to traditional methods of icon painting.
