Description from the seller
20 magazines from 1967-1969. About 50 pages per issue. A sensational magazine in those years. With later well-known authors. (see photos) Issues 14 through 33
Gandalf
Year: (1964 - 1971)
Editor-in-chief / Editorial board: Peter Hamelink Guus Dijkhuizen
Cover: Peter Dicampos
Publisher/Director: Mien Klinkhamer (employee)
Genre: Eroticism and sexuality
It wasn't easy in the free sixties, but in 1968 Gandalf still managed: the magazine was condemned for publishing images that offended public decency. It concerned unabashed nude photos, but in addition the strongly satirical, anti-establishment character of the magazine also played a role. Particularly monarchies, politicians and priests could not do any good. Sacred cows were happily knocked down and good taste was put to the test. Publisher Guus Dijkhuizen characterized his magazine as a 'sex-satirical magazine between Tirade and Margriet'. Gandalf was a mixture of quality and silliness in all its parts: the photos, stories, columns, drawings and collages. Among the renowned contributors to this issue are, among others, Remco Campert, Joop Waasdorp and Riekus Waskowsky, the photographers H.M. Joosse and G. Barbieri, and cartoonist F. de Jonge Melly.
