Description from the seller
Olympus mju-II (Stylus Epic) – Legendary 35mm f/2.8 Lens – Partially Functional / For Repair
The Cult Classic Point-and-Shoot
Up for auction is the highly coveted Olympus mju-II (also known as the Stylus Epic). This camera is widely considered the ultimate analog point-and-shoot due to its incredibly sharp 35mm f/2.8 large-aperture lens and its iconic, weather-sealed compact design.
Condition Report & Technical Notes:
This unit is in beautiful cosmetic condition but has two specific technical issues common for this model:
Lens Retraction: The lens does not automatically retract after a photo is taken. To retract the lens, you must close and re-open the camera slide.
Flash: The primary flash is currently not functioning. Only the 'red-eye reduction' pre-flash is active.
Proven Performance:
Despite these mechanical quirks, the camera's optics remain superb. Included in the gallery are sample photos taken with this exact camera as recently as March, showcasing the beautiful contrast and sharpness this lens is famous for.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a collector who can live with manual retraction for the sake of that prime lens, or for someone looking for a high-value repair project.
