Description from the seller
Pair of Museum-Quality Mid-Century Table Lamps – Temde Leuchten – Model 5592 – High-Gloss Brass & Teak – 70 cm
Description
A truly exceptional and identical pair of stately table lamps from the renowned German-Swiss manufacturer Temde Leuchten. This concerns the iconic Model 5592, a design that merges the geometric sleekness of Mid-Century Modern with the rich look of Hollywood Regency style.
Visual Brilliance and Condition
This pair stands out for a condition rarely seen in lighting over 50 years old. It looks as if the lamps have always resided in a dust-free, smoke-free environment:
• Shades: The original, tapered shades have a beautiful "wild silk" texture with a subtle sheen. Particularly remarkable is the handwoven lattice at the corners, which is fully intact. When the lamp is lit, the shade emits a very atmospheric, warm diffuse light (see photos).
• The Fixture: The interplay between the vertical wooden slats and the high-gloss brass elements is of a high aesthetic level.
• The Base: The heavy, stepped base of brass and wood provides the lamps with the necessary stability and an imposing presence in any interior.
Specifications
• Manufacturer: Temde Leuchten (Germany/Switzerland)
• Model: 5592 (original stickers present under the base)
• Height: 70 cm (overall) / 45 cm (without shade)
• Dimensions: Base 19.5 x 19.5 cm / Shade 36 cm wide
• Weight: approx. 3.3 kg per lamp
• Technical: Fully original and working. Suitable for E27 (LED) light sources.
Shipping
Because of the exceptional condition of the shades these lamps are packed with a "no-risk" method: double boxes, lots of impact-absorbing material, and insured shipping.
A rare opportunity to acquire a pair of this caliber and in this condition. A value-stable investment for the lover of high-end vintage design.
