Val Saint Lambert, an Art Nouveau crystal vase that is hand-cut with clear and red glass, decorated with gold oxides and a central white glass paste scene of a lady and trees, finished in pure gold at the rim and base, measuring 10.8 cm in width, 15.5 cm in height and 10.8 cm in depth, weighing 1.2 kg, made in Belgium, in excellent condition with only minor signs of use and aging, and attributed to the workshop from the early 20th century though unmarked.
Description from the seller
Delightful cup-shaped vase, made of very thick crystal, entirely hand-cut, transparent in some areas and red in others, enriched with gold oxides, with a central decoration in white glass paste applied hot, depicting a lady and trees, finished in pure gold on the rim and the base. The vase is unsigned, but it is attributable to the Val Saint Lambert artistic glassworks in Belgium, dating from the early decades of the 20th century. The Art Nouveau-style vase features a multi-point star under the base, a recurring element in all the artistic crystals of Val Saint Lambert. The decorations in glass paste are exquisite, entirely handmade and of the highest quality. The crystal used is excellent, thick and very heavy, and the inlays, also handmade by the artist, are magnificent. The decorations, characterized by a very fine, entirely handmade lattice, are serrated at the base. Finally, the pure gold finish, both on the rim and on the base, is splendid, with two elegant concentric circles. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/producer. It bears no attribution marks or official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. Conditions: excellent, always kept in a display case — this vintage/antique piece is in nearly original condition. May show minimal signs of wear. Tracked shipping will be entrusted to a courier.
