JBA Falcon + 2 from 1985, a hand-built exhibition roadster located in Italy (Centre) with 13341 miles, UK registration, manual petrol transmission, cream exterior, 1995cc Ford-derived engine producing 98 HP, matching numbers and colours, service history present, MOT not valid, no CoC, aluminium body with grp wings, and in very good overall condition with minor chips and wear.
Description from the seller
This motor car was hand built by JBA engineering as a demonstration and exhibition model, as a consequence it has done extremely low mileage, verifiable by the MOT documentation in the extensive history file. JBA built 370 of this model. As an exhibition demonstrator it has been regularly maintained and presents in extremely good condition with light wear. The body is aluminium with grp wings, so there is no rust. The lined hood has been recently replaced by a specialist supplier, as have the carpets. Everything works as it should do and the car is a joy to leisurely drive on sunny days, but surprisingly quick when necessary. The drive train is of Ford derivation so thoroughly reliable, easily to maintain with spare parts readily available. Recent works have included new brake system and steering bushes. The engine has been turned over, but the car has not been driven since last October, so a routine service etc is to be recommended.
The only necessary works that I am aware of are the fuel tank sender, which gives an inaccurate reading and may need adjusting/replacing. Starting from cold the engine splutters until warmed up, then runs fine. I suspect the twin choke weber carburetor needs cleaning/adjusting.
As previously stated, the aluminium body with grp wings is in excellent condition, as is the paintwork with just a few insignificant stone chips.
The majority of the brightwork of the car, including
The original spoked wire wheels show signs of superficial rusting of non structural significance. Maybe for aesthetic reasons they could be refurbished, although the patina of age is to my view authentic and appealing. The wheel are shod with good quality Goodyear tires which are in good condition, see photos.
The steel chassis and underside of the car were under sealed from new and in very good condition, with only a dusting of rust where raw metal is exposed.
The clutch is fine and shows no sign of slipping. Gear change through the 4 speed box is very positive and secure via the short gearstick. There are no oil leaks. Oil pressure and cooling temperature are stable and as they should be. Ignition is through "Accuspark electronic ignition system", the original distributor cap, points and rotor arm are included in the box of tools and bits supplied with the car.
The car has never needed any welding or repair work. It has always been stored under cover. It is a classic English roadster and thus RHD.
There is an active international owners club, many copies of the owners club magazine are supplied with the history file. Also included is a history of JBA engineering and the various versions of the Falcon they produced.
The photos give a good impression of the overall condition of the car and should be studied.
