Description from the seller
Pair of Art Deco Geometric Bookends - Modernist Marble & Translucent Alabaster Disc Design - France, ca. 1930
This set features a striking abstract, geometric design that perfectly captures the clean, architectural lines of the high Art Deco movement. Each bookend is composed of a large, thick circular disc crafted from a beautiful translucent, cream-colored alabaster or marble. In front of the large disc sits a smaller, semi-circular accent piece made of a deeply contrasted, beautifully veined reddish-orange and brown marble.
Both structural elements are securely mounted onto a solid, polished rectangular marble pedestal base. When the light catches the large discs, the natural translucent quality of the stone creates a soft, glowing effect.
With their substantial combined weight of nearly 1.8 kg, these bookends are as functional as they are decorative. A timeless and sophisticated addition to any modernist workspace, library shelf, or high-end Art Deco collection.
Product Specifications:
Style: Art Deco / Modernist Geometric
Country of Origin: France
Materials: Translucent alabaster / natural veined marble
Condition: Good vintage condition. The stone elements are beautifully preserved with smooth surfaces and minimal, age-appropriate wear. Some very minor flea bites or tiny edge nibbles may be present upon close inspection, which is entirely normal for genuine period stone objects of this age. No major cracks, breaks, or repairs. Please review the detailed photos for an accurate overview.
The object will be packaged with care and shipped worldwide with a secure track and trace code.
