A large antique decanting funnel, also known as Salvavina, made of heavy brass, of Italian origin and dating to 1850–1900, with dimensions of 38 cm high by 35 cm wide and 35 cm deep, in good condition with minor signs of age and stains, handcrafted and historically used by professionals but now decorative.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Ancient and large transfer funnel also called Salvavina because its peculiar shape prevented wine from escaping. These funnels were made entirely by hand, beaten and hammered, and came in various sizes, with a filter/grasparola. Normally, at these large sizes, they were professional-grade for a cellar master. Excellent collectible item but also suitable as rustic decor. It should be noted that being very old and very used, its current function is purely decorative.
