Mask / crest "Tywara" African wooden mask of the Bambara ethnic group from Mali -
Its very vertical expressive form is best compared to the styles of northern Mali, in the Ségou region.
It is a beautiful object with a gazelle stylized in a horizontal position.
Mask of rejoicing. This type of Bambara mask symbolizes an antelope synonymous with fertility and was worn to celebrate the end of good harvests.
This crest is representative of Bambara art, with a balance between shapes and volumes and finely carved details.
This crest is extremely stylized, and this form may have inspired Cubist painters at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
