Cavalier Corporation Coca-Cola glass-bottle vending machine, metal in red, model Cavalier, USA, dating from 1940–1950, in used, not tested condition.
Description from the seller
Beautiful vintage Coca-Cola vending machine for glass bottles, presumably produced between the late 1940s and early 1950s by the American company Cavalier Corporation. The upright design with rounded corners, the raised “Drink Coca-Cola in Bottles” lettering, and the classic “ICE COLD” wording recall the most iconic models of the era.
The machine features an original red-painted metal frame, front door, mechanical coin compartment, and an internal bottle-columns column system. Inside, the distribution mechanism and the selector/coin mech branded NRI (National Rejectors Inc.) are still present, a typical component of American vending machines of the period.
Dimensions are approximately:
64 x 60 x H 164 cm
Cosmetic condition:
the vending machine presents in generally good, conservatively preserved condition, with strong stage presence and an excellent vintage patina. However, there are signs of age and use, including:
scratches and abrasions on the paint
small impacts and oxidation spots
touch-ups and probable re-painting done over time
wear on the lower parts and edges
markings and hazing on the chrome parts and the coin compartment
Functional condition:
the machine is sold as a collector’s item/vintage décor and has not been tested for operation. From the photos it seems fairly complete internally, but some mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant components needed to make it functional again or to restore it professionally may be missing. A technical check by a restorer specialized in vintage vending machines is therefore recommended.
This type of Coca-Cola vending machines produced by Cavalier Corporation is today highly sought after by collectors, enthusiasts of American automobilia, retro-themed venues, showrooms, and industrial/vintage interiors.
