Description from the seller
Large Brazilian Tourmaline (Schorl + Verdelite) with green transparency – 5315 g
Impressive and fascinating natural specimen of Schorl (black tourmaline) with evident Verdelite (green tourmaline) zones, originating from Brazil, one of the most renowned areas in the world for tourmaline production.
The specimen features well-developed prismatic crystals with marked vertical parallel striations, typical of tourmaline. The crystal structure is well defined and gives the piece a strong visual impact.
One of the most interesting elements is the presence of translucent green areas, clearly visible when the specimen is backlit. This effect is due to the natural zoning of the crystal during growth and is particularly appreciated by collectors.
The specimen is partially embedded in its original pegmatitic matrix, probably composed of quartz and feldspar, which further enhances its natural appearance.
