Description from the seller
HONG KONG. 1 Dollar. 1960. Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022)
- Value: 1 Dollar.
- Reign: Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022).
- Year: 1960.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: ELIZABETH II QUEEN THE SECOND around the crowned bust to the right. Reverse: HONG KONG · 壹圓 · ONE DOLLAR · 1960 around a crowned heraldic lion holding a pearl; dentate perimetral edge.
- Grade: MS66 (PCGS).
1 Dollar silver coin with a laureate and crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II looking to the right, in a classic British style, with fine modeling in the hair and the crown, showing great sharpness in the details. The reverse features the characteristic crowned lion holding a pearl, a traditional emblem of Hong Kong, executed with strong relief and excellent definition in the mane and limbs. The fields are clean and with an original satin luster very attractive, accompanied by a light and uniform patina consistent with its preservation. An outstanding specimen for its freshness and visual quality, representative of British colonial issues in Asia during the economic consolidation period of Hong Kong in the 1960s.
