Description from the seller
FINLAND. Helsinki. 50 Pennia. 1915. Nicholas II (1894-1917)
- Value: 50 Pennia.
- Reign: Nicholas II (1894-1917).
- Year: 1915.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: Russian Imperial Eagle crowned with central shield and the mint mark S under the wing; pearl border on the periphery. Reverse: 50 PENNIÄ 1915 within a vegetal crown tied at the bottom with a ribbon; pearl border on the periphery.
- Grade: MS65 (NGC).
Silver 50 Pennia coin minted for the Grand Duchy of Finland under the sovereignty of the Russian Empire, featuring the heraldic-style, detailed and stately imperial two-headed eagle with strong symbolic presence. The relief is well defined, especially on the wings and the central shield, preserving original luster with a uniform light silver patina. The fields show small mint-age marks, maintaining an overall fresh and attractive appearance. The reverse, with clear and balanced typography framed by laurel and oak crowns, reflects the sober aesthetic typical of early 20th-century Finnish issues, in a historical context marked by tensions preceding Finland’s independence in 1917.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to be absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
