Description from the seller
**EXTRA “HORS D’ÂGE” COMES FROM THE AGING OF EAU-DE-VIE IN OAK CASKS FOR *20 TO 70 YEARS.***
Appellation: Cognac “Hors d’Âge”
Blend: Ugni Blanc, a blend from the 6 different crus: Fins Bois, Bons Bois, Borderies, Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Bois Ordinaires
Tasting: This Extra is bottled in a handcrafted decanter adorned with gold. Jean-Edouard Godet uses batches dating back to the post-war Renaissance period. It is heady and sensual, threaded with spicy notes and softened by fragrant bursts of dried flowers.
Presentation: 1945. In the aftermath of the Second World War, after four years of occupation, father and son Jean and Jacques—the 12th and 13th generations of Godet—found their cellars empty and vineyards devastated. They had to resume distillation to rebuild their stocks of eaux-de-vie and propel their name into the 20th century. Seventy years and two generations later, their goal has been achieved.
This Extra Cognac is presented in a handcrafted decanter enriched with rose gold. For this special cognac, Jean-Edouard Godet selected the finest batches dating back to this Renaissance period. Connoisseurs will appreciate a profound eau-de-vie with a sensual bouquet, velvety aromas highlighted by a spicy touch, and sparks of dried flowers.
