Pioneer SX-990 receiver, manufactured in 1970, with a weight of 11.4 kg, is tested and operational, displays varying physical condition, features 2 x 28 W output, and offers AM/FM mono, FM auto, Phono-1, Phono-2 and aux inputs.
Description from the seller
Rare good Pioneer SX-990 receiver with age-typical signs of use.
The most mature of the SX-440 / SX-770 / SX-990 series with 2 x 28 Watts
Selector switch AM FM-mono FM-auto Phono-1 Phono-2 aux
All inputs and outputs have been tested,
1 pair of original speaker plugs
The unit has been in my living room and must go due to an upgrade
The unit has not been serviced.
Very well packed
Note: the stereo indicator light stays on; the internet suggests a defective capacitor or the wrong bulb, but FM does play in stereo.
Pioneer SX-990
Never before has a receiver combined such exceptionally high performance with so much audio refinement.
A full 100 W at 8 ohms over a frequency response from 10 Hz up to a fantastic 100,000 Hz
Advanced solid-state circuits with field-effect transistors and integrated circuits and a four-variable capacitor – for markedly superior sensitivity and limiting.
Two VU meters, an unusually wide range of inputs and outputs, precise tone control and a large number of important innovations.
Carefully designed. Stunningly styled. Truly one of the best audio components ever made.
