Aka Electric Berlin theatre spotlight from Germany, dating to the 1940s, mounted on a beechwood and brass tripod; overall 60 cm depth, 34 cm width, 45 cm height, and 10 kg, in poor used condition with large cracks and missing pieces but in working order, with the original lamp included as shown.
Description from the seller
German theater spotlight from the AKA Electric factory, DDR, built in the 1940s as shown in the photo of the metal tag. It is mounted on an industrial wooden and brass tripod. The internal lamp of the spotlight has been replaced because it had an E40 socket and, above all, because it delivered 3000 watts, which is incompatible today with a domestic electrical network. Therefore, a reducer for E27 bulbs was installed. The original lamp, as shown in the photo, is an integral part of the sale and will be shipped together with the spotlight. A knob allows forward/backward movement of the lamp inside the reflector. The item thus represents an example of 1940s East German industrial design. The beech wood tripod has at its top a solid brass base on which an iron plate supports the spotlight. It is extendable from 1 m to 1.70 m, as shown in the photo. For the dimensions and weight of the tripod and lamp, shipping will be carried out in two packages.
