Description from the seller
Classic Sennheiser MD 421 U-4 dynamic cardioid microphone, serial number 79871, made in West Germany. One of the most recorded microphones in history — used on drums, guitar amps, brass, vocals and broadcast for decades.
This is the U-4 variant (5-position bass roll-off switch), which is the standard studio and broadcast version. The microphone comes complete with its original Sennheiser leatherette carrying case, the original mic clip/stand adapter, and — notably — the original factory frequency response measurement sheet (Prüffeld), which confirms the unit was tested and calibrated at the factory. Sensitivity is rated at 2 mV/Pa.
The microphone is in excellent used condition. The body shows light cosmetic wear consistent with professional use, the grille is intact, and the capsule is fully functional. The original case shows age-appropriate wear on the exterior but holds the mic securely.
A rare opportunity to acquire a complete, well-documented example of this legendary microphone.
