BANKSY signed booklet from Ukraine - unique piece
For sale (benefiting the reconstruction of schools in Ukraine) a unique booklet from Banksy, signed with additional text by important executives of the national Ukrainian postal company. On February 23, 2023 Banksy, in collaboration with Ukrposhta (the national postal company of Ukraine), issued a limited art stamp and a limited art postcard from his ‘Judogevecht’, a graffiti he realized in November 2022 on the wall of a damaged building in Borodyanka (a suburb of Kyiv). This edition of that art stamp was produced on the occasion of 1 year of war in Ukraine.
From Banksy’s art stamp, Ukrposhta issued a luxurious booklet, containing the complete FCK PTN! Banksy series: the limited art stamp sheet, the limited art postcard, and the limited art envelope with first-day cancellation. The booklet was issued in a very limited edition of 1000 copies. During the unveiling of Banksy’s stamp, the key Ukrposhta executives (the CEO and the philatelic director) signed several of these booklets with mentions of resistance slogans. These booklets are, of course, extremely scarce and each piece is unique. Everyone knows that these rare Banksy editions will soon fetch a very high price at art auctions. Investing in authentic editions of Banksy has often proven to be lucrative.
This copy comes from the collection of Flemish author and art connoisseur Marc Pairon. Pairon has already written two books on Banksy’s oeuvre: ‘BANKSY - THE WALLED OFF ART EDITIONS’ and ‘BANKSY IN UKRAINE – FCK PTN!’. In the latter book, Pairon published some of these rare signed booklets (see photos).
