Keshan Oriental Rug in cashmere and silk, handmade, 214 × 146 cm
This handmade cashmere Oriental rug (India) features a classic Keshan design with a central medallion and an elegant symmetrical arrangement of the field.
The light inner field is dominated by a finely crafted medallion, which blends harmoniously into a dense interlaced floral motif. The bold corner motifs stylistically echo the medallion and give the whole a balanced, complete, and representative look. The broad, dark main border with regularly arranged floral rosettes energetically frames the field and enhances the depth of the composition.
The color palette combines natural white, beige and warm tones of rust and gold with dark brown and subtle accents of green and blue. The silk pattern gives the surface an elegant sheen, with a soft tactile quality.
